IAS Staff and Administration
Prater, Vida Director of Programs and Administration I started working in IAS while I was a graduate student in Anthropology/Archaeology at UC Berkeley thinking it was a great part-time temporary job. Twenty-six years later I wonder where the time went. I still look forward to work each day and can only guess what the day may bring. Each day is like no other before it. There are new challenges, new ideas, new people - like a new job every day. My primary role is the daily management of IAS Teaching Program. That includes the allocation of resources to the right places at the right time, working with the various chairs and deans to insure students, faculty, and staff have the resources they need to be successful. Secondarily, you might say my "other" job is to coordinate the innovations of the faculty and insure the programs respond to the needs of students and the campus, maintain high academic standards and continue to remain dynamic and cutting-edge. After work I join my family for fun and adventure mostly involving my son and daughter's love of competitive sports. |
