The Berkeley Rotary Center
TIPS FOR STRONG CANDIDATE APPLICATIONS
Tips for interested students about the application process for the Rotary International Scholarship in Peace and Conflict Resolution are listed below:
- For any questions and concerns, please email: rotarypeacescholars@berkeley.edu
- Carefully read the "Program at Berkeley" section.
- Fellowship applications for a University of California, Berkeley Master's Program will be reviewed by both Rotary and Berkeley Faculty at the specific Department at the time of submission to Rotary.
- Applicants must prepare to meet all admissions requirements and deadlines six to nine months (12/15 & 1/15) before the program year starts.
- A strong academic statement of purpose demonstrates the strength of your interest and qualifications for the program where you wish admissions, e.g. a scholar applying for admissions in History will describe their studies, interest and success in History as well as peace and conflict resolution.
- To obtain the highest possible scores required for admission, students are encouraged to take required tests before or at the same time as their Rotary fellowship.
-
Rotary fellowship decisions are announced immediately before most of the admissions deadlines at UC Berkeley. Most applications are due December 15th, with requisite test scores. The applicants will prepare and attach a copy of their university application to their Rotary fellowship application. They will clearly designate one preferred masters program/professional school, with
- a statement of academic purpose.
- academic references persuading admissions.
- complete academic transcripts.
- available required test scores.
